Sciteq Family of Synthesizer Products

Meret Optical is a longtime supplier of frequency synthesizer products using both Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) and Fractional Phase Lock Loop (PLL) technologies. The product line was developed through the addition of Sciteq Communications in 1996, culminating in over 19 years of synthesizer experience. Meret has continually extended the state-of-the-art for DDS products and now offers the widest bandwidth and highest performance products available. In fractional PLL synthesis, Meret offers a fully programmable, very low noise device in addition to providing complete solutions for customers needs, particularly when the relationship between price and performance is critical.

Fiber Transmission Products

Meret Optical develops and manufactures high performance fiber optic transmission products to support the communications needs of broadcast video production, closed-circuit television (CCTV), high-resolution video markets, and cable television (CATV). Meret system applications include defense, distance learning networks, medical imaging, computer graphic links, highway traffic control, industrial surveillance, and long-distance AM and FM multichannel systems. Meret has over 34 years of high-quality video and optic fiber experience.

RF Transmission Products

Meret Optical RF transmission products include AM and FM modulators and demodulators to support coaxial and fiber optic video and audio transmission.  The RF Transmission product line was developed through the addition of Catel Telecommunications in 1993, bringing over 25 years of experience in multichannel transmission.  Meret RF transmission products are used by broadcast networks as well as most of the cable television providers throughout the world.  Meret products for LMDS and MMDS wireless systems provide wireless transmission of high quality video signals for alternative television access.

Routing Systems

Meret Optical is a longtime supplier of video, audio, and data routing and distribution products.  This reputation was firmly established with the development of the first solid state video routing switcher and the design and installation of the world’s largest solid state switch network at Jet Propulsion Laboratories.  Meret has an installed router base for almost every conceivable application including numerous customer configurations for specialized projects.  Over 40 years of routing switcher experience was gained when Dynair joined Meret in 1995, culminating in the development of the compact routing switcher known as System 2000.
